Programs and Services Offered:

- One to one support - volunteers visit a client and family in their home, hospital or long term care facility and offer practical and emotional support.

- Volunteers visit on the Palliative Care Unit at
Burnaby Hospital and St. Michael's Hospice Center.

- Vigils (volunteers sit with a person who is dying during the final moments of life).

- One to one bereavement support through volunteer visitors and from the Bereavement Phone Team.

- Individual and family professional grief counseling.

- Grief support groups - adult, children and caregiver.

- Specialized massage for palliative clients.

- Memorial services in partnership with the Burnaby Palliative Care Program.

- Special Christmas service for those who are grieving.

- Tea and coffee service on the Palliative Care Unit.

There is no cost for Hospice services and referrals can be made by anyone.

Hospice will be there during the journey through illness,
death and bereavement.
